SUMMARY:Volunteers for Habitat for Humanity Arvada ReStore!
DESCRIPTION:Habitat for Humanity ReStore\, Sat. October 12th\, 10AM-2PM\, 6 Volunteers are needed. We will be helping at the Arvada ReStore. We’ve helped them many times previously.  We normally are helping to stock donations onto the shelves\, straighten up or rearrange some of the areas\, and sometimes help with accepting incoming donations & outgoing purchases. There is free parking and a lunch break.  Customers shop at the ReStore for new and gently used appliances\, furniture\, home remodeling supplies\, pictures\, and more at huge discounts.  Our volunteers get an extra discount if they see something they wish to purchase! All profits support Habitat for Humanity’s home ownership program for low-income families.  Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver builds and sells homes to hard-working people in need of decent and affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver is part of a global\, nonprofit housing organization that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes\, communities and hope.

SUMMARY:REVEL Art Gala!
DESCRIPTION:REVEL Art Gala\, Sat. Oct. 19th\, 4:30-10PM\, 8 volunteers are needed. (10/14/24)-This event was asking for 6 volunteers but just opened it up for 8 so we can use 2 more people!  We will be helping with check in & check out plus doing a few duties in between.  Set against a backdrop of art\, music\, & gourmet food it promises to be a night to remember!  There is stunning art from local artists.  Guests will be bidding on an array of exclusive items & experiences through their silent & live auctions plus there’s a great program. REVEL empowers teens & adults with autism & IDDs to live a life without limits.  There will be free parking for volunteers at the HUB\, a central Denver location.  You will also receive free dinner & have a great time!  Although our group event will be on Saturday I’ve been asked if any of our volunteers would like to also help on Sunday from 9AM-2PM to help wrap up the art that was sold. Lunch will be provided.  If you’d like to assist at that also please let me know at event@svgd.org after you register.  This event should be a great time for a very worthy cause!

SUMMARY:Volunteers for Metro Caring Food Bank!
DESCRIPTION:Food Bag Making/Helping at Food Market for Metro Caring\, Wed. Oct. 23rd\, 5:30-8PM\, 6-10 Volunteers are needed. We will be packing and organizing home-delivery food bag orders that are delivered (not by us) to community members who are unable to come to the facility many because of medical issues\, will help with received food donations\, & may help in their attached food market which is like a grocery store.  Metro Caring relieves hunger while also addressing the root causes of that hunger.  The event will be in Central Denver.  There is free parking next to the building.  This is our sixth opportunity to help this worthy non profit which last year distributed over 2+ million pounds of nutritious food to hungry families & individuals while also providing education and tools to help participants improve their health and reach their potential.

SUMMARY:Black Cat Ball benefiting The Feline Fix!
DESCRIPTION:Black Cat Ball benefiting The Feline Fix\, Sat. Oct. 26\, 6:30-9:00PM\, 6 volunteers are needed.  We will be helping at the “cat ear” table\, with the coat check\, at the silent auction table\, & will help hand out the stuffed cats (I got one last year & it is great!) to the donors that donate $250 & get a special supporter cat!.  The event will be held at the Sports Castle on Broadway. There will be live music & you can wear a costume (no masks nor face paint).  It is a Epic Halloween Party like no other!  The Feline Fix is Colorado’s leading spay/neuter source for free-roaming “community cats” & a significant provider of quality & affordable spay/neuter services for pet cats. To date\, they have spayed/neutered over 50\,000 cats at their clinic!
