DESCRIPTION:Wags & Whiskers Gala benefiting Paws Co. (a benefit for dogs & cats in need)\, Fri. Nov. 4th\, 5:30-10PM\, 5 volunteers are needed.  We will be helping with the Silent Auction tables and the Live Auction.  PawsCo gives vulnerable animals an opportunity to survive!  There will be delicious food stations\, an open bar\, a wine wall\, silent & live auctions\, dancing etc.  This should be a very fun time for a very worthy cause that helps animals in need!  The event is held in Westminster.  It is the non profit’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

DESCRIPTION:Dia de los Muertos benefiting Denver Botanic Gardens\, Sat. Nov. 5th\, 12-4PM. 5 Volunteers are needed.  We will be helping visitors to complete one of 3 different craft activities that are setup throughout the outdoor spaces of the garden. This is a fun annual event and I know we’ll have a great time helping in the craft area!  The event is held in the Denver Botanic Gardens on York St. in the Cheesman Park area.  The Day of the Dead celebration is in its 11th year and offers fun for the whole family.  Many of the guests will be wearing Dia de los Muertos costumes!  Volunteers must have been COVID vaccinated.

SUMMARY:Habitat for Humanity Denver ReStore!
DESCRIPTION:Habitat for Humanity ReStore\, Sat.Nov.12th\, 10AM-2PM\, 6 Volunteers are needed. We will be helping at the Central Denver ReStore on Rio Grande. We’ve helped them many times previously.  We normally are helping to stock donations onto the shelves\, straighten up or rearrange some of the areas\, and sometimes help with accepting incoming donations. There is free parking and a lunch break.  Customers shop at the ReStore for new and gently used appliances\, furniture\, home remodeling supplies\, pictures\, and more at huge discounts. All profits support Habitat for Humanity’s home ownership program for low-income families.  Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver builds and sells homes to hard-working people in need of decent and affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver is part of a global\, nonprofit housing organization that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes\, communities and hope. All volunteers must be vaccinated.

SUMMARY:Serving Dinner at The Crossing Transitional Shelter!
DESCRIPTION:Serving Dinner at The Crossing transitional shelter\, Mon. Nov.21st\, 5-7 PM\, 5 volunteers are needed. Many of our volunteers request this event because they enjoy it and feel that it is such a worthwhile organization.  The Crossing is a transitional facility between the homeless shelter and getting back into a home.  The residents are working and saving up for a place to live.  It is drug & alcohol free.  Men\, women & children reside there.  It provides a great service as people work to get back on their feet. Our volunteers will help in the buffet line and may help with some of the meal bags for those who come back from work after dinner time.  After we serve dinner we will have an opportunity to eat as a group and also enjoy the meal. This facility is trying to keep everything safe for volunteers.  Each volunteer should wear a mask.  Gloves will be provided. All volunteers must have been vaccinated!  We will be behind the counter & plexi-glass when serving food and there are sinks for handwashing and sanitizer. This will be a great way to start the Thanksgiving week by helping people who don’t have a home where they can bake a turkey!
