SUMMARY:Food Packaging & Handout for Food Pantry!
DESCRIPTION:Food Packaging & Handout for Food Pantry\, Sat. June 13\, 9:30-2:30PM\,  6 volunteers are needed.  The event will be set up by 9:30AM so we can package the food at 9:30AM-11AM for the families. Volunteers will be served a lunch at 11AM.  At 11:30AM we will help pass out the food packages to the food recipients. This event is located at the Denver Islamic Food Pantry near Monaco/Warren in Denver. We assisted them a couple months ago for the first time & enjoyed the experience. The pantry provides essential support to those facing food insecurity.  It is open by appointment for everyone to take what they need\, when they need it. They distribute items such as grains\, canned goods\, fruits & vegetables\, and often other household staples like diapers and wipes.

SUMMARY:Edgewater Music Festival-Blues & BBQ for Better Housing!
DESCRIPTION:Edgewater Music Festival Blues & BBQ for Better Housing benefiting Habitat for Humanity\, Sat. June 20th\, 1:00-4:30PM\, 6  Volunteers are needed.  We will be entrance attendants who will check tickets & IDs\, greet the guests\, provide wristbands\, and ensure smooth entry. The event is being held at a park in Edgewater from 2PM-10PM but we will just be helping in the beginning.  Over the past years\, this festival has raised over $700\,000 for Habitat for Humanity.  You will receive a T-shirt and free entry to enjoy the music that starts at 2PM during your shift and bands after you finish your shift!  We can help the cause & then enjoy the event. It’s a great time for a good cause!! Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes\, communities\, and hope.  Their Vision is: A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

SUMMARY:PrideFest Fundraising Beverage Booth!
DESCRIPTION:Fundraising Beverage Booth at PrideFest- Sun.\, June 28\, 8:30AM-1:30PM\, 12 Volunteers are needed to run an alcohol booth. The event is on 16th St. in Denver. (The previous years it’s been in Civic Center Park but that is under construction so it’s been moved).  In addition to helping the non-profit who gets the majority of the funds we will get paid money towards our fantastic organization so we can continue to operate.  SVGD needs funds annually in order to pay our insurance\, web hosting\, sponsor our MeetUp group for more volunteers\, etc.  We provide volunteers to approx. 50 non-profit events annually but do need to do a couple for us in order to continue providing this great service to the Metro Denver community.  We will be in charge of an alcohol booth\, which we’ve done for several years\, at this fun event with a percentage of the profits going to our organization as long as we provide the number of volunteers they need for the shift!  Since this is a big undertaking & a fundraiser\, non-SVGD members can also register.  We encourage our members to invite friends\, work associates\, and other non-profit associates to participate\, especially since we need so many volunteers & will have 1-3 more shifts.  If we don’t provide the number of volunteers to which we commit we don’t get paid!  When you sign up please let us know if you have other persons who could be volunteers and you can ask them or you can give us their info.  We always have a fantastic time!  It’s a colorful event with lots going on! We’re in a booth with a counter and window that looks out at the colorful action.  It’s like watching TV!  What fun!!   The World Cup is also going on so there will be lots of people and activities which you can stay after the shift an enjoy!  PrideFest is the largest annual fundraiser annually for the LGBTQ Community Center of Colorado (The Center)\, a non-profit that serves more than 47\,000 people annually.  Recognized as one of the top ten pride events in the country\, Denver’s PrideFest is a celebration of community\, heritage\, family and culture. They are expecting around 500\,000 people from Colorado and surrounding areas come out to enjoy the parade\, rally\, music\, entertainment\, food and much more. The Center plays a pivotal role to reduce harassment & discrimination and provides programs & resources needed for the LGBTQ community to live happy\, healthy\, & productive lives.  Please join us as we accomplish two objectives- supporting SVGD financially and supporting this non profit!
